Hello, my name is Jen Fraser and I'm honored that you are interested in my photography. There are so many really great photographers out there so I don't do this in an attempt to compete or try to work my way to the ranks of great. I do this because I enjoy it and because it is my response to God's beauty displayed in His creation. My images are not meant to exactly capture the scene I see but rather it is my attempt at capturing how the scene felt. As such, most of my images have been altered in some way.
I was born and raised in Winchester, TN. I graduated the University of Tennessee in 1995 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and married my husband, Brock, after graduating. I worked as a software engineer for various companies including John Deere until 2006 when I decided to switch careers and pursue graphic design. Under my company,
Point Multimedia Design, I now work as a freelance multimedia designer in Asheville, NC. I have been interested in photography since I was quite young. As a child, I enjoyed playing with my father's SLR. That interest was further spurred when my father, a teacher, taught a darkroom class in my school's new darkroom. The interest in the captured image that grew from those experiences has never left me.
EquipmentI shoot with a Nikon D200 and my lenses include the Nikon 10.5 mm 2.8 fisheye, the Nikon 17-55 mm 2.8, the Nikon 105 mm 2.8 macro and the Nikon 70-200mm 2.8. I have a Hoya Infrared filter as well as a Nikon D40x converted to Infrared. I have SB800 and SB600 flashes and I use a Gitzo tripod and ball head. I process my images in the digital darkroom with Photoshop.
If you have enjoyed my images, please
let me know! I would love to hear from you!
